Last night I had a dream…
Setting
In year 2XXX, somewhere in the far future there was a new virus outbreak. It was given the name “The Slime Virus.” The human soul will be ejected from its body and take a new form of a slime, hence its name. Once ejected, the empty human husk will run away. When approached, less than 10 meter of distance from you (slime form), it will run. The human husk, had all its limits removed. It now has enhanced speed, power, endurance, and reaction. Death will occur in 3 days, after that timeframe the slime body will melt away. The only way to survive is to make contact with your human body, the empty human husk and your slime body must reunite. Otherwise after 3 days, when your slime self disappear, the your empty human husk will go on a rampage until it destroy itself.
Game Start
I woke up in the middle of NYC, everything was in chaos. Cars flipped over, broken windows, buildings on fire, and masses amount of death on the street. To my left and right, there were a ton of humanoid slime chasing down what look like their human self. When I looked at my hands it was translucent. A message popped inside my head.
Capture your human body to reunite your soul with the body. Mission Start. Countdown 72 hours remaining till death in the corner of my vision.
Trying to grasp what was going on. I decided to call my parents to see what was happening. As I try to reach for my phone in my pocket, it suddenly dawn upon me. I was naked. No clothes and no belonging. Just a pink jello standing in the middle of the streets.
Out of nowhere a steel construction beam, was came hurling in my direction. I tried to dodge but I wasn’t able to move. I didn’t know how to control my new slime body. “I’m sooo dead” as I shut my eyes. Splat. My upper body splatter into pieces yet I was still conscious. Some how I was still alive as my upper half started to reform itself. I felt so wrong, as if I drinking jelly and vomiting it at the exact same time. The moment as I regain my form. A group of human like ninja blurred pass me. A couple of seconds later. About 10–20 humanoid slime came raining down. Each splatter into a pile of goo as they hit the ground, within seconds they were back up dashing pass me as I stand there motionless.
Dream logic, it fast forward me to the climax. Skipping my understanding and training arc. I obtained new slime power, being able to rival that of my human body. I constantly chased down my body. Planning new strategies, planting booby traps, and predicting my body’s next course action.
It was now the final day. Both version of me were leaping off buildings, running on top of power lines, needless blowing up facility that was in our way. My countdown timer was near. 10 minutes remaining, I had yet to capture myself. My slime body grows hotter and redder, excesses stream radiating from my core. Dashing and bouncing off the walls, I continue to give chase while fending off incoming projectile being thrown at me. My slime body grew slower as the distance grew wider. Not giving up, I pressed on. That’s when I learned a new skill, “kaio-ken”. I activated my new found skill. My slime body grow hotter than before. My body was literally bubbling from the extreme heat as I radiated a red aura. I blasted through buildings catching up to myself. Time was ticking down to the last 10 seconds with my human body insight. I gave one last desperate leap with my melting slime hand outstretched, trying to tag myself.
Oh great! A bright white light……. Totally saw that coming….
“Beep beep beep” and… my alarm clock woke me up.
